There was a massive shift in how our culture understood morality when, after World War II, the general public realized “just following orders” was not an excuse for crimes against humanity. Now we need another moral shift in which we decide, as a culture, that “for the benefit of the stockholders” is not an excuse for anything.
We kind of need to relearn the “just following orders” part again
thinking about how they 100% spent the past year trying to get acclimated to not hiding when they’re around friends or stopping themselves from touching each other in videos and slowly trying out a new language they never allowed themselves in the past to talk in (partner, lover, boyfriend, etc) and god….. I know it’s going to take them a while to get used to being public and not stopping themselves or self censoring and I just!!!! I’m so excited for them to get truly comfortable and learn a whole new way of being! they get to exhale now!
I gotta say it’s so funny to see people like “middle school me is dying” and “big day for people who USED to be annoying in middle school and etc” like no. You don’t understand. I’m a taxes paying adult and this was the biggest day of the year for me.
